Update on my brother’s new house. Everything is moved in and for the most part, put together. There is still so much to do to make it feel like a home, but we are so close to being there. In my previous blog post, I talked about the paint color he chose and gave some details about the house. Now that it is fully painted and he officially has nothing left in his old apartment, I wanted to share with you a little home tour.
Let’s start in the kitchen. This is my favorite part. It is full of cabinets and they are white with black countertops. You guys know I love black and white. All he had to buy for this space was a fridge; he got off easy there. The dining room is right next to the kitchen and right now he just has a small table for now.
Next is his office. I have mentioned before that he owns his own business, Kidunot Technologies. He develops applications and websites for companies. He started this business when he was 16 and has been doing it full time for about two years now. In the office, he has his desk and a sectional. There is another bedroom right next to his office, he plans to turn that room into a home gym. For now, it is just a catch-all room. There is also a guest bath on this side of the house.
In the middle of the house is the living room. It is completely empty right now, though. He has a couch, love seat, coffee table, side tables, rug, and some lamps on the way. We hope they will be here by the end of the week. Once he gets the furniture in there, it will look so awesome. I always want to say parts of his house are cute, but he says that a man’s house is not cute. So I have to remind myself that and my mom, too. She is always getting in trouble for not using masculine adjectives.
Off the living room is the laundry room that leads to the garage. Of course, there is nothing fancy about laundry rooms, but I thought someone might want to see it.
Now the master bedroom – this room is also a work in progress. He needs to get nightstands, bedding, a headboard, and he wants to add a chair. There is so much room in the master bedroom. It is crazy how small his furniture looks now. The master bath is connected to the room, and it has a ton of storage space. I am a little jealous about all the space and storage he has.
(Not Pictured) We have also done work to the outside of the house. We planted pants and a few trees. It is amazing how landscaping can make a house look ten times better. There is still a lot to do. I will keep sharing with you as we progress along.
