I am so proud of my brother. Last week he bought his first house! I cannot wait to share the progress with you as we make this his home. Follow along as we talk about home design with a masculine focus.
The house is located in a newer neighborhood here in Amarillo. It is a three bedroom, two bath, two car garage home. It is the perfect size for him and his dog, Siri, who desperately needed a backyard. He lived in an apartment before. Fun fact, I am actually moving into his old apartment. It worked out well for me that he wanted to buy a house because there were no other one bedrooms available in the apartment complex. So, now I get his old one.
I am sure you are wondering what he is going to do with all this space. Well, he didn’t have much in the department of furnishings. He actually had to buy quite a bit of furniture to fill up his new house. Obviously, he will sleep in the master bedroom, and he will use one of the other bedrooms for his office. He owns his own company and works out of his home. So, having an extra room that can solely be his office, was a huge plus. The other room will eventually be an in-home gym.
We started by painting the living room and his bedroom. Painting made such a difference in the way his house looks. He went with Sherwin Williams Peppercorn for the living room walls and the bedroom walls and ceiling. We had to get everything painted before the weekend was over. It was a lot of hard work but the “Ponder Paint Crew” works fast. Sadly I am not on that crew. No one will let me paint because apparently, I make a mess. Oh well! 😀 On Thursday, I will share more about the decor and what his plans are for the house.

Also, I am sure some will want to know what kind of dog he has. You might guess a husky puppy, but she is not. She is an Alaskan Klee Kai. She is actually full grown and full of energy.
