(Disclosure: This is my personal opinion)
A few weeks ago I purchased the St. Tropez Dark Bronzing Mousse Self Tanner with the applicator mit. After all the hype I have heard about it from fellow bloggers, I was expecting it to be AMAZING.
Sadly, it did not live up to the hype in my opinion. I’ve done a total of five different applications and the color looks great for one day. I’m not even kidding. By day two, I looked like I went on a hike in Palo Duro Canyon with shorts on. My Amarillo people know that means my legs are coated with orange dust.
I followed the directions on the bottle to a T. Here are the steps listed on the bottle-
- Shower and exfoliate.
- Completely dry off after shower.
- Apply lotion to dry areas, such as knees, elbows, and ankles.
- Apply a thin layer of the mousse to desired area (for best result use the applicator mit).
- Allow mousse to dry before putting on clothes.
I did everything it said to do and my results were sad, to say the least. The next morning when I woke up the color was amazing and looked natural. By day two it looked splotchy and had faded in large areas. Most of the color seemed to settle on my knees and ankles (my left ankle especially). You can see the photos below for my day two results.
Overall, I can not recommend this product to my friends and readers. Stay tuned as I continue to try other products and keep y’all updated on what I find. The key things I’m looking for is an even and natural color as well as longevity between applications.
