Let me begin by saying how terrible having a full time job is. I only got two days off for Christmas. I am totally rethinking this being done with school thing. I really want my six weeks off again.
Anyways… I had the most wonderful time this weekend. I started my Christmas festivities with a candlelight service at my church. I found this amazing floral print skirt at Dillard’s. My black leather jacket has been a part of my wardrobe for many years and I cannot remember where I purchased it. The sheer tank top I am wearing is the one I wore and linked in the “My Favorite Fall Outfits” blog. The black suede heeled booties are also linked in that same blog. After candlelight, we all went to my parents house to watch a Christmas movie and await the arrival of Santa.
Finally, it was Christmas day and Santa had come. After the traditional Christmas breakfast, we opened gifts. Ah, and let me tell you, I got some great gifts. To start my brother got me a reversible The North Face vest. My parents gave me some new Nike tennis shoes. The pair on the left is the 2017 Nike Free Rn Flynit in blue multi color. The shoe in the middle in the Nike Juvenate in White. The shoe on the right is the Nike Roshe One in Black. I also received a pair of Figs scrubs from my adopted family. I am wearing the Yola Skinny Scrub Pant and Catarina One Pocket Scrub Top. My favorite gifts were in my stocking. I got some super cool kitchen gadgets. The tumbler scrub brush is from Tupperware and I wanted it specifically to clean my Swell water bottles. It works great because it is tall and skinny. I received a fancy resturant style pizza cutter that you can get at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I also received an avocado, kiwi, and strawberry slicers. I used the strawberry slicer last night and that gadget is a real time saver. Now onto my tech gadgets. My mom got me this really cool thermometer that connects to an app on your phone. You can get the thermometer on Amazon. Another cool gadget I received was an arm band for my AppleWatch. This will be most helpful when I workout. Time to say goodbye to Siri turning on when I go to do a push-up. You can find the armband on Amazon. I also got a wireless charger for my phone. This charger only works for iPhone 8/8 Plus & iPhone X. The charger can be found on Amazon as well. The whole family got an electric toothbrush and I can say we all would recommend it. It is a newer toothbrush company called Quip. My brother describes them as the Apple of the toothbrush world. If you have not heard of it, check it out.
After opening presents, we got ready to go over to our “adopted” family’s house for lunch. We had a feast! I mean that literally because there was so much food. We had steak, chicken, shrimp, and crab legs. Of course, we can not forget about the dessert we some how managed to have room for. My mom made her homemade apple pie that is a family favorite. The oldest boy, Briggs, considers my brother, Brett to be his best friend and they spent most of the day playing football in the backyard. We love spending time with our second family. We always have a great time with them.
Last, but not least, the Ponder pets wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Also, little update on the pets, Siri (right) survived doggy bootcamp and was able to spend her first Christmas with us. The cat, who in the Thanksgiving post was called Phoebe, has now been named Gunther since we have discovered that he is a he not a she. It was his first Christmas, too, and he really enjoyed all the paper and bows. As for London (middle) and Sydney (left) they have put on some weight since last year and their Christmas dresses did not fit this year. You can see in the picture that Syd’s dress could not velcro all the way down. 😂
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
