4 Humans, 3 Dogs, 2 Full Days, & 1 Cabin

This past week, my family took a little vacation to Red River, New Mexico with all of our dogs as well. It was nice to get away for a little while and enjoy some family time.

Prior to the trip, my brother got a new puppy. She is an Alaskan Klee Kai and he named her Siri. (For those who know my brother, this makes perfect sense.) She is a beautiful dog and has the coolest eyes. One is blue and the other is green. Our other dogs are still warming up to her. They do not enjoy the fact that she has a lot of energy.

To start off the trip, we went into town to do some shopping and we ended up riding the ski lift. Well, just me, my dad, and my brother because my mom does not like heights. It was the best way to get a view of the mountains and the town. We ended that day with a competitive game of Nertz. The game is supposed to be played in pairs but we decided to play “every man for himself” to make it more interesting.

The next day, we went to town to have breakfast with some friends who were also in Red River. We ate at Old Tymer’s Cafe. Word on the street was that they had the best pancakes. They were actually really good, and might I mention, they are the size of the plate. After our big breakfast, we went for a hike, with the dogs of course. They actually walked more than I thought they would. We got rained on at the end of the hike, but we didn’t mind. It cooled us down. After the hike, the dogs were DONE. All three took a nap while we cooked dinner.

It was a much-needed trip away, but I am glad to be back in my own bed!
